ABOUT US
Our clay creations blend the smooth and sought-after lines of pottery with the unique sketches from lead artist, Tony Litherland. We create functional pieces that can endure everyday use. You’ll find elements of nature mixed with abstract lines and unique textures in our pottery. Tony also draws inspiration from his travels across the world (37 countries to date), from his wife’s Hispanic roots (Argentina) and from his former place of dwelling (Oklahoma).
Meet the Owners
Artist Tony Litherland
I’m a retired professor designing clay creations and ink sketches. I have a passion for art. I have a passion for teaching. More importantly, I have a passion for Christ. I combine all three in my post-retirement job – Clay Art Designs. I design unique pottery that is both functional and colorful. I also provide pottery lessons for those who are interested in doing the same. In addition, I take delight in the various sketches I do reflecting my respect for animal life, especially the bison. Through it all, I live life as joyously as possible and try to share the good news of the One who created me and blessed me with my artistic abilities.
Co-Owner Lucrecia Litherland
I’m the co-owner and operation manager of Clay Art Designs. I have a passion for art, especially pottery. I love to play with clay and glazes, creating pieces that have both esthetic and practical value. And I also have a passion for languages, which I channeled through teaching over forty years in the classroom. I’m the most blessed when I can share my abilities with others, whether in our classes or at our shows, in a way that brings fulfillment and joy to others.
